Job Description
Finance intern supporting UN University’s financial data, reporting, policy, and intranet operations. Remote six-month placement within UNU-Centre Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and perform data analysis supporting the development and review of finance and operational policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Assist with collecting, validating, and analyzing financial data and information
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other financial and operational documentation
- Assist in coordinating and documenting meetings, including agendas, minutes, correspondence, presentations, and communication materials
- Support maintenance and enhancement of the Finance Intranet, including content management and user-experience improvements
- Support training activities, internal knowledge networks, and the community of practice
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the supervisor
- Gain practical experience in financial management processes within an international organization
Requirements:
- University studies in Finance, Business Administration, or another related area
- Be in the final year of undergraduate study, enrolled in a graduate degree programme, or within two years post-graduation from a bachelor's, master's, or PhD programme
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of ERP systems and data visualization tools is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and within a multicultural team
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills
- Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage
- Submit a completed UNU P11 Form
- Provide a motivation statement in the P11 form
- Provide two recommendation letters
- UNU does not sponsor a working visa for this position
Benefits:
- Monthly stipend for interns not receiving financial support from other sources, determined by duty-station stipend rates
- Stipend paid monthly
- Stipend prorated for online and part-time internship arrangements
