Job Description
Full Stack Software Engineer building Protege’s AI training-data catalog and customer portals. Shipping TypeScript/Next.js features for multimodal browsing, search, access, and delivery workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Ship features across the internal dashboard and customer-facing portal from design through tests and rollout
- Talk directly with partnerships, solutions, and sales teams to observe workflows and turn friction into features
- Design interfaces, including layout, hierarchy, interaction, and empty, loading, and error states
- Build catalog and solutions workflows for sample creation, customer access management, and delivery exports
- Build customer-facing browsing, streaming, and evaluation experiences for multimodal samples
- Implement playback, preview, and file-handling UX for content stored across buckets
- Build UI on embedding-based search across catalogs of millions of clips
- Extend and consume API routes using Next.js route handlers, Postgres, and AWS
- Handle sensitive data through scoped access, secure share links, and PHI-aware routes
- Contribute to the shared design system and component library and write tests
- Ship initial features, learn user workflows, and map the catalog domain during the first 30 days
- Own well-scoped features end to end and become the go-to engineer for a surface area by 60 days
- Independently deliver a meaningful feature and improve shared UI components or testing patterns by 90 days
Requirements:
- 2+ years building production web applications that real users depend on
- Strong TypeScript and React experience, with Next.js or a comparable full-stack framework
- Experience shipping user-facing features end to end, including UI, API, data model, and tests
- Ability to take rough ideas to clean, usable interfaces with strong design sense
- Comfort working across the stack, including Postgres and AWS cloud services
- Proactive ability to identify and fix confusing or slow flows
- Comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities
- Curiosity and proactivity
- Nice to have: browser media playback experience, including HTML5 video/audio, HLS, containers, and codecs
- Nice to have: experience building search or data-heavy interfaces over large datasets
- Nice to have: portfolio, side projects, or shipped work demonstrating UI judgment
- Nice to have: familiarity with Clerk authentication and permission modeling
- Nice to have: experience with sensitive or regulated data, including HIPAA and PHI
- Nice to have: prior startup experience
