Job Description
Product Engineer building and shipping AI-assisted features for Periskope, a WhatsApp customer-conversations and operations platform. Owning customer problems, production code, and product outcomes end to end.
Responsibilities:
- Talk to users every week and turn customer feedback into decisions about what to build
- Scope, build with AI agents, deploy, and iterate based on real usage
- Own a part of Periskope end to end and the metric it moves
- Challenge agent output, test assumptions, and remain accountable for the code and results
- Investigate production issues, learn the underlying data models, APIs, and WhatsApp infrastructure, and fix problems
- Listen to sales calls, support chats, churn reasons, and usage data
- Choose important problems and reduce them to the smallest useful fix
- Direct agents, review every code diff, and test their assumptions
- Release changes to real customers, using feature flags when risky
- Measure usage and tickets, then keep, fix, or remove changes
- Participate in the interview process, including an async WhatsApp conversation, a 90-minute working session, and a final conversation
Requirements:
- 2–5 years in engineering, product, a founder's office, or your own startup
- Product intuition: ability to identify what is wrong with a screen and why
- Proof of building something real with AI tools, such as a product, internal tool, or automation people still use
- Ability to unblock yourself without waiting for a specification, designer, or permission
- Desire to own production systems
- Clear communication and ability to explain decisions, flag uncertainty early, and move work forward in a remote team
- Candidates must be based in India
- Candidates are expected to be able to join within 30 days
- Must be a citizen of India and currently based in India
