Job Description
Fullstack Developer building Java backend services and React interfaces for Playtech’s player engagement products. Developing gaming features such as tournaments, missions, rewards, and CRM campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Build features end to end in player engagement products for online gaming operators
- Develop backend services including REST APIs, event processing, caching, scheduled jobs and database migrations
- Develop back-office web UI in React and TypeScript
- Integrate with platform services for bonuses, loyalty, wallets and player data
- Write unit and integration tests
- Review code and keep APIs and events backward compatible
- Investigate and fix production issues and help prepare releases
- Estimate and refine stories with BA and QA
- Work on products including leaderboards, tournaments, missions, challenges, prize draws, random prize drops and automated CRM campaigns
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of commercial development experience with Java
- Commercial experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience with event-driven and distributed systems, including Kafka and Redis
- Solid understanding of relational databases, preferably MariaDB
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Jenkins, WebSockets, and similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure tools such as Docker, Helm, Consul, Vault, Apache Karaf/OSGi, or similar technologies
- Understanding of Git flow, including pull requests and branches
- Experience with system design, troubleshooting and debugging
- Experience covering changes with automated tests, including JUnit and Testcontainers
- Comfortable and proactive use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code
- Experience validating, refining, and taking ownership of AI-generated output
- Proactive, responsible, and open communication style with ownership of work
- English at upper-intermediate level or above
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is an extra point, not required
- Experience with contract-first API work is an extra point
- Domain expertise in iGaming, betting, CRM, loyalty or gamification is an extra point
