Job Description

Grants compliance specialist evaluating federal grant programs for emergency management consulting firm. Developing monitoring tools, trainings, reports, and corrective action recommendations for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate client and sub-recipient activities, including program expenditures, financial statements, and program activity narratives
  • Assess program effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with compliance requirements and federal regulations
  • Execute analytical activities requested by clients and field responses to sub-recipient inquiries
  • Create templates, forms, tools, presentations, webinars, FAQs, and personalized training programs
  • Develop and lead trainings and presentations for internal and external audiences, including governments and sub-recipients
  • Research, analyze, and maintain working knowledge of program requirements, policies, regulations, laws, and guidance
  • Draft management- and client-level reports, memorandums, letters, and documents
  • Provide recommendations on best practices and keep stakeholders informed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in public administration, accounting, finance, public policy, political science, or a related field
  • At least three (3) years of work experience working on federal grant programs, such as FEMA, US Treasury, HUD, or other federal grant award programs
  • Substantial familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200)
  • Knowledge of federal grant award regulations and laws
  • Program monitoring knowledge and experience
  • Ability to review and analyze program documents to determine compliance adherence
  • Ability to develop corrective action recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe
