Job Description
Head of Development leading engineering for Vizzlo’s data-visualization SaaS platform. Owning architecture, integrations, cloud operations, and hands-on TypeScript, React, and Go development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the engineering team across Dataviz, Frontend, Backend, Integrations, and DevOps
- Set technical direction, unblock team members, review code, and raise quality standards
- Own the overall architecture, technology choices, and platform scalability
- Steer TypeScript/React development for web and desktop and Go/Postgres backend development
- Drive development of the browser-based TypeScript data visualization engine and interaction interfaces
- Own third-party integrations including Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, SSO/IdP providers, and software stores
- Run CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Maintain production systems on Vercel and AWS, including ECS and RDS
- Manage Docker-based preview environments
- Maintain critical systems including GitHub, CircleCI, ZenDesk, Google Workspace, payment, and accounting integrations
- Help maintain data protection and security standards, documentation, and policies
- Manage technical risk
- Coordinate releases, troubleshoot bugs, pair with engineers, and address customer integration issues
Requirements:
- Excellent written and spoken English skills (a must)
- Good German skills are a plus
- 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- At least some experience leading or mentoring a team, formally or informally
- Deep, practical knowledge of TypeScript/React and Go
- Solid experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Experience with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience building third-party integrations and designing clean APIs
- Track record of shipping in a SaaS environment with continuous deployment
- Genuine interest in data visualization
- Strong communication skills and commercial sense
- Bias for action
- Postgres at scale, Office/Google add-ins, and Vercel/ECS/RDS production experience are bonuses
