Job Description
Casual Herd Test Technician delivering and collecting equipment from dairy sheds. Supporting LIC’s farmer-owned New Zealand dairy herd-improvement and testing services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the region using LIC vehicles
- Return the following day to collect completed samples and equipment
- Handle heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment
- Cover absenteeism and seasonal peaks in the Waitaki region
- Work casually through the end of the season in May 2026
Requirements:
- A clean full Class 1 driver's licence
- Ideally know your way around a milking shed
- Reasonable level of fitness and physical strength
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, professional, and reliable
- Exceptional time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility with working hours and locations within the Waitaki region
- Tech-savvy with a 'can-do' attitude
