Job Description
Certified High School ELA Teacher managing instructional programs virtually at New Mexico Connections Academy in New Mexico. Collaborating with students and parents to ensure educational success.
Responsibilities:
- Virtually manage instructional programs from home
- Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional programs
- Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences
- Review curriculum and devise alternative approaches to presenting lessons
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers
- Work collaboratively with other teachers
- Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s K-12 curriculum
- Support students and parents with alternate strategies
- Maintain up-to-date student records and contacts
- Organize and coordinate regional field trips and community activities
- Participate in organization and administration of State Testing
- Attend field trips and other community activities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Highly qualified and certified to teach High School ELA in New Mexico
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS, MS Office programs, and Google Suite)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Customer focused approach
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
- Team player track record
- Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
- Ability to work remotely
- Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
