Job Description
HR Generalist supporting recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations for AppGate's growing team in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee recruitment processes, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
- Lead onboarding and offboarding efforts to ensure smooth employee experience
- Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS
- Support payroll and benefits administration, including open enrollment and vendor coordination
- Provide guidance to employees on company policies, procedures, and HR-related inquiries
- Support employee changes including promotions, transfers, and compensation updates
- Ensure a seamless employee experience across all touchpoints
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions (policies, benefits, payroll, etc.)
- Support performance management processes (documentation, tracking, coordination)
- Administer benefits programs and act as liaison with brokers/vendors
- Support open enrollment and employee education
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Handle leave of absence tracking (FMLA, state leaves, etc.)
- Maintain and audit HR documentation and personnel files
- Support audits (internal/external) and reporting needs
- Assist with policy updates
- Maintain data integrity across HR systems
- Generate reports (headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics, etc.)
- Support system implementations and process improvements
- Support HR initiatives such as performance management cycles, engagement surveys, and org changes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in a generalist or similar HR role
- Experience supporting a fast-paced, high-growth environment (tech preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HR fundamentals (employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll)
- Experience with HRIS platforms (UKG, or similar)
- Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws (multi-state preferred)
