Job Description
In-House Legal Counsel providing practical legal advice and support for strategic growth in a mid-sized organization. Engaging in various legal activities including contract negotiation and IP management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide practical, business-forward legal advice supporting day-to-day operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements including customer, supplier, confidentiality, and licensing agreements.
- Guide and oversee the IP lifecycle and manage IP protection efforts in coordination with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Support regulatory requirements and assist with employment-related matters.
- Research legal and commercial risks to guide decisions and reduce risks.
- Provide legal support for strategic growth transactions and corporate governance documentation.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (required).
- Active license and State Bar membership in good standing (required).
- 3–5 years of related legal experience (required).
- Experience advising on corporate matters, commercial transactions, & risk management (strongly preferred).
- Experience with California law (preferred).
- Experience supporting strategic growth transactions (buy-side M&A experience preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and CLM programs (preferred).
