Job Description
Site Reliability Engineer modernizing cloud infrastructure for DTEX, a workforce cybersecurity company. Automating deployments, observability, and operations with Python, Terraform, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and maintain primarily Python software to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management
- Contribute to Terraform adoption and maturation, including state management, modularization, and version control best practices
- Use Ansible and/or Saltstack to provide consistency, repeatability, and standardization across environments
- Develop and mature CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
- Implement and mature monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and sustainable incident response
- Conduct blameless postmortems and drive continuous improvement
- Champion SRE principles, automation, and coding best practices across the organization
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing production environments in AWS and/or GCP
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable infrastructure code
- Experience with Terraform, including state management and modular design in complex environments
- Strong knowledge of Linux internals
- High competency in Bash scripting and command-line operations
- Proficiency with Ansible and/or Saltstack
- Expert-level understanding of Git and collaborative workflows
- Experience transitioning legacy/manual operations to automated, infrastructure-as-code approaches
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
- Familiarity with Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Experience operating and querying OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
- Desire to work in enterprise and government-focused computing environments with robust security and reliability requirements
- MS/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study, or equivalent experience
