Job Description
Senior infrastructure specialist designing and migrating Proxmox, Kubernetes, and private-cloud environments for Cloud Manta’s cloud and DevOps consultancy. Advising customers and automating modern infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, build, and further develop Proxmox-based private cloud environments
- Migrate existing VMware and other virtualization environments to Proxmox
- Build and operate Kubernetes platforms, particularly with Rancher and RKE2
- Design highly available infrastructure and storage solutions, such as with Ceph
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD
- Advise customers on private cloud, hybrid cloud, and modern infrastructure
- Analyze existing environments and develop suitable target architectures
- Support technical workshops, migrations, and proofs of concept
- Document architectures and technical decisions
- Take responsibility for architectural decisions, technical standards, or team development, depending on experience
- Collaborate with customers and the engineering team
- Support customers throughout the process, from architecture and migration through technical implementation
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with Proxmox VE and Ceph
- Solid Linux skills
- Good foundational knowledge of virtualization, networking, and storage
- Basic understanding of containers and containerized applications
- Good overall IT infrastructure knowledge
- Independent and structured approach to work
- Interest in solving technical challenges together with customers
- Very good German and good English skills
- Willingness and interest to develop expertise in Kubernetes, Rancher, RKE2, distributed storage systems, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Azure, AWS, VMware-to-Proxmox migrations, highly available private cloud architectures, backup and disaster recovery concepts, network architectures, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and monitoring
