Job Description
Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer running Linux, Hetzner, and infrastructure-as-code systems. Improving reliability and automation for IP Fabric’s network-automation platform.
Responsibilities:
- Support engineering as our customer with the infrastructure they need
- Own and deliver significant infrastructure projects end to end, from proposal and planning through rollout and documentation
- Bring fresh ideas and challenge the status quo constructively
- Operate and improve Linux-based infrastructure across Hetzner VMs, Proxmox hypervisors, and bare-metal machines using Puppet and Ansible
- Participate in a weekly business-hours on-call rotation, handle engineer requests, respond to monitoring alerts, and run upgrades
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability
- Share knowledge through documentation, runbooks, and pairing
- Make infrastructure more reliable, improve engineering speed, automate repetitive work, and increase resiliency
Requirements:
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills in production environments
- Configuration management tool experience - SaltStack, Chef, Ansible, Puppet
- Solid scripting in Bash and Python for automation
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
- Experience with on-call or operational responsibility, and a calm, structured approach to incidents
- Clear communication in English (spoken and written)
- EU citizenship or other eligibility to work in the EU
- Service-minded attitude towards the engineers you support
- Track record of owning improvements proactively
