Job Description
Investigative Research Specialist focused on identifying plaintiffs for a U.S.-based employment law firm. Conducting research on California employers and verifying employee contact information.
Responsibilities:
- Research California employers that may be involved in potential employment or labor law violations.
- Identify current and former employees of targeted companies using investigative research, public information, databases, and sourcing tools.
- Build accurate, well-organized prospect lists that can support potential class or representative actions.
- Locate individuals who may be suitable class action representatives based on defined case criteria.
- Find, enrich, verify, and document employee contact information using multiple research platforms.
- Maintain complete and accurate lead records within the firm’s CRM and research databases.
- Design repeatable workflows for employer research, people identification, data enrichment, and lead verification.
- Evaluate and recommend research databases, skip-tracing platforms, sourcing tools, and AI solutions.
- Test new investigative methods and measure which approaches produce the most accurate and qualified results.
- Support outreach efforts by delivering verified lead lists with clear sourcing notes and reliable contact data.
- Assist with online presence research and digital marketing opportunities when additional research support is needed.
Requirements:
- **Must-Have:**
- At least 3 years of experience in investigative research, lead research, sourcing, skip tracing, due diligence, business intelligence, fraud investigation, or advanced lead generation.
- Demonstrated experience building prospect or contact databases from scratch.
- Strong internet research skills and the ability to connect information across multiple sources.
- Experience using several lead research, people-search, sourcing, data enrichment, or contact verification platforms.
- Ability to locate hard-to-find individuals and validate the accuracy of contact information.
- Strong written English, analytical judgment, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently during Pacific Time business hours with minimal supervision.
- **Nice to Have:**
- Experience with OSINT, skip tracing, private investigation, background research, executive search, or legal lead research.
- Familiarity with California employment law, labor law, class actions, or plaintiff identification.
- Experience comparing research tools and presenting clear recommendations based on accuracy, coverage, cost, and usability.
- Experience developing CRM workflows, research playbooks, or lead qualification systems.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research, automation, or data enrichment workflows.
