Job Description

IT System Administrator managing Windows and Linux servers for WBS GRUPPE’s digital education services. Maintaining, securing, and optimizing infrastructure while implementing new systems and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, administer, and continuously develop Windows and Linux servers
  • Plan, implement, and commission systems and services
  • Ensure the reliable operation of the IT infrastructure
  • Provision and configure hardware, software, and access permissions
  • Perform troubleshooting and document findings in German
  • Manage escalations relating to problems and incidents
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously optimize and standardize the server environment
  • Gather requirements and develop innovative solutions
  • Contribute to forward-looking IT projects

Requirements:

  • Completed IT training, a degree in computer science, or comparable practical experience; career changers are also welcome
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016–2025
  • Knowledge of Linux, preferably Debian
  • Experience operating, planning, and commissioning IT systems and services
  • Very good knowledge of Active Directory, including GPO, DNS, Sites and Services, and trust relationships
  • Experience with VMware vSphere
  • Experience with Veeam Backup
  • Experience with Microsoft Terminal Server
  • Basic understanding of PKI, networking, and IT security
  • Experience with monitoring systems, such as PRTG
  • Fluency in German
  • Desirable: Experience with Proxmox and storage systems such as SAN/vSAN
  • Desirable: Knowledge of WSUS and experience with Dell servers
  • Desirable: Experience with Ricoh Streamline NX Server and server hosting providers such as Hetzner and IONOS
