Job Description
Key Contractor Manager driving commercial growth for Marshalls, the UK’s leading hard landscaping, building and roofing products supplier. Managing key housebuilder and contractor accounts, specifications, projects and regional stakeholder negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the National Commercial strategy for Main Contractor, Housebuilder key accounts and associated design teams and partners
- Develop profitable commercial business opportunities for Marshalls
- Strategically focus on defined Key Housebuilder and Contractor accounts
- Create demand and drive specification of Marshalls products and systems
- Maximise Marshalls Plc profitability through the optimal blend of price, volume and product mix
- Develop the business and manage preferred supplier relationships
- Engage with key decision-makers at a regional level
- Engage with Marshalls head office, including pre-construction and design teams
- Identify and understand major regional projects
- Use Barbour ABI to track project progress
- Keep shared documents up to date
- Engage early with project teams and specification managers
- Report directly to the Regional Trading Director
- Lead negotiations with key stakeholders using Marshalls’ value proposition
Requirements:
- Commercial experience across a wide number of stakeholders within the building industry, including tier 1 housebuilders and main contractors
- Ability to leverage specification strategy with main contractor and housebuilder customers to gain higher margins and better product mix
- Knowledge of sustainability and products used within the industry
- Creative, solutions-oriented thinking and adaptability to changing needs and specifications
- Working knowledge of procurement routes
- Capacity to lead negotiations with key stakeholders using a broad value proposition as a commercial lever
- Detailed knowledge of RIBA
- Ability to build strong relationships and engage key decision-makers at regional level
- Experience or proficiency with Barbour ABI
