Job Description

EHS Manager providing day-to-day EHS support for GSI projects in the United States. Working closely with operational and project managers to uphold EHS standards and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day EHS support for site activities across all GSI as it is relates active project within the United States
  • Develop strong working relationship with operational and project managers in the region to drive the expected EHS culture across all operations
  • Act as support liaison for all sites in helping comply with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and GE requirements
  • Understand EHS contractual requirements
  • Conduct audits in line with the business audit plan
  • Conduct regular inspections of sites and working methods
  • Support onsite initiatives including Life Saving Rule validations, GE Vernova initiatives
  • Perform onsite Orientations for GEV personnel, Contractors and Visitors
  • Be the liaison between client and GEV for related EHS initiatives
  • Perform contractor evaluations on monthly basis in Complyworks
  • Support the business in driving continuous improvement in EHS programs
  • Review, analyze and evaluate effectiveness of existing programs and recommend necessary improvements
  • Support the region in maintaining accreditation across assigned sites
  • Drive increased use of Digital Programs and tools across assigned sites
  • Conduct ITO reviews and assess EHS requirements and risks
  • Participate in the evaluation of safety and environmental associated risks
  • Conduct investigations and analysis of all accidents or hazardous situations
  • Identify trends and causes, as well as follow up on corrective and preventative actions
  • Deliver EHS training to assigned sites population as required
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree from accredited college or university OR a High School Diploma/Equivalent with minimum 5 years of EHS experience
  • 5+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in a Services environment with primary experience in Safety
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas, Electrification, Energy business with a specific focus on Power and Substations
  • Knowledge of North American EHS legislation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to travel up to 85%, as required with planned rotations
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to become certified CPR Instructor
