Job Description
Lead Embedded Software Architect designing embedded systems and firmware for power grid products. Collaborate with architects and report to the Sr. Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Architect end-to-end system solutions, including hardware, embedded software, tools, verification, validation, and test infrastructure
- Develop platform architectures that improve reliability, reduce technical risks, and enhance product competitiveness
- Drive platform reuse and make data-driven design decisions through trade-off analysis and evaluation
- Lead technical discussions, resolve complex issues, build consensus, and define risk mitigation strategies
- Communicate architectural vision effectively, influencing stakeholders and empowering development teams
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to define, prioritize, and align architecture-related backlog items and requirements
- Ensure safety, reliability, performance, and security while assessing design changes, managing risks, mentoring colleagues, and guiding technical decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong experience in embedded software development and embedded systems architecture
- Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) with advanced C/C++17 programming skills
- Solid understanding of Transmission & Distribution power systems, including protection relays and related applications
- Extensive experience with modular embedded platforms based on Xilinx Ultrascale+ architectures
- Hands-on expertise with Embedded Linux, RTOS, and microservices-based software architectures
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for collaborating with technical and cross-functional teams
- Advanced proficiency in both English and Portuguese, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
