Job Description
Lead Technical Advisor leading teams in diesel-electric locomotive maintenance and repairs for Wabtec’s Guinea rail operation. Managing safety, quality, troubleshooting, training, and customer delivery on FIFO rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and support Wabtec technical advisors and customer/subcontractor teams in Diesel-Electric locomotive maintenance and repair for CTG in Guinea
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues to minimize locomotive downtime
- Provide technical expertise on safety procedures, maintenance and repair procedures, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, material handling, tooling, and contract requirements
- Promote continuous improvement in safe work practices while monitoring quality, productivity, and contract adherence
- Provide training and mentorship and own preventative and corrective actions
- Communicate work scope, process improvements, and required coordination with cross-functional departments
- Provide reports on contractual deliverables, locomotive maintenance and repairs, scheduled work, quality and reliability improvements, OJT training, materials, open issues, and operational metrics
- Ensure compliance with Wabtec, customer, and local regulations
- Conduct operational risk assessments
- Develop and maintain customer relationships and address customer concerns
- Coordinate field modifications and monitor their effectiveness
- Lead Wabtec and customer/subcontractor teams during shifts to ensure maintenance is executed safely and successfully
- Interface with Wabtec operations leadership on customer, contract, and equipment issues
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in a Technical discipline from an accredited College or University
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a customer facing role maintaining Wabtec/GE locomotives
- Wabtec L1 Locomotive Technical training certificate
- Experience and ability to work in a shop environment and work various shifts on various days as required
- Understanding of Wabtec Maintenance and Material management processes and systems
- Strong leadership and Interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface with different levels of internal and external customers
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Lean/Six Sigma certification (desired)
