Job Description

Logistics Coordinator managing patient-specific shipments for Cabaletta Bio, a biotechnology company developing cellular therapies for autoimmune diseases. Tracking transportation milestones, documentation, compliance, and escalations across the cell and gene therapy supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate domestic and international transportation bookings for patient leukapheresis collections, starting materials, intermediates, and finished drug products
  • Schedule and confirm shipments with approved specialty logistics providers and courier partners
  • Align transportation arrangements with manufacturing schedules, patient treatment dates, and chain of identity/chain of custody requirements
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and transportation instructions
  • Verify shipment readiness, packaging, labeling, and documentation before dispatch
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery using transportation management systems and courier tracking platforms
  • Provide proactive oversight of critical patient shipments, including timelines and temperature requirements
  • Investigate transportation delays, route deviations, temperature excursions, and delivery issues
  • Coordinate corrective actions to minimize patient impact
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking information
  • Serve as the primary communication point for shipment status updates
  • Coordinate communication among treatment centers, manufacturing facilities, couriers, quality teams, scheduling teams, and patient operations groups
  • Facilitate escalation management for critical transportation events
  • Participate in daily operational meetings and provide shipment status reports
  • Ensure logistics activities comply with GDP, GMP, GxP, IATA, DOT, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Maintain chain of identity and chain of custody documentation
  • Support deviation investigations and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to SOP development, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and assist with corrective and preventive actions

Requirements:

  • Some experience
  • Experience in cell and gene therapy, biopharmaceutical, clinical trial, or healthcare logistics
  • Knowledge of chain of custody and chain of identity requirements
  • Familiarity with cryogenic and temperature-controlled transportation
  • Experience managing international shipments and customs documentation
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics control tower operations
