Job Description
LPN providing telephonic patient support, education, referrals, and data collection for UBC’s pharmaceutical support programs. Serving patients, healthcare professionals, and consumers by phone.
Responsibilities:
- Provide telephonic professional nursing services in support of client-funded contracts
- Make outbound phone calls to patients enrolled in patient programs
- Receive inbound calls from patients, healthcare professionals, and consumers
- Answer questions and suggest appropriate patient resources
- Make referrals for additional training, support groups, program materials, or literature
- Recommend that patients contact their personal physicians for additional information, directions, and care
- Assemble accurate, timely, clear data and complete summaries of follow-up calls, patient inquiries, and outcomes
- Complete patient teaching related to product use
- Participate in program-specific customer meetings and training sessions
- Participate in orientation meetings and demonstrate clinical competency in electronic/written tests
- Perform special projects and other duties related to contract performance
Requirements:
- Minimum- associate degree and professional nursing license
- Practical Nurse License (LPN) in good standing in the state in which you work and/or cross-licensed in other states
- Telephonic nursing roles are required to have a Compact State License in eligible states
- Employee must be willing to obtain Compact State license at such time as their state elects to adopt Compact legislation
- Telephonic nursing roles are required to have a California State License; candidates do not need to hold it at hire but must be willing to obtain it once hired
- Must be willing to obtain additional single-state licenses upon request
- 2-5 years’ experience
- Basic database and office navigation skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of customer interaction/service skills while talking with patients, prescribers and/or specialty pharmacies via phone
- Ability to multitask in both PC/Phone related tasks
- Ability to maintain adherence to approved scripted materials
- Ability to interpret information shared by the patient to determine the next steps as the individual case may warrant
- Must work Mon-Fri 8a-5p CST and one late night per week from 10a-7pm CST
