Job Description
Oncology pharmacist counseling patients, verifying prescriptions, and coordinating medication orders for Evernorth Health Services. Ensuring accuracy, resolving dispensing issues, and supporting physicians and pharmacy teams remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
- Contact doctors, prescribers, and/or patients to verify prescription information and expedite order processing.
- Consult with patients regarding medication use and potential drug interactions.
- Track order status and outstanding issues.
- Take customer calls regarding lost orders or dispensing errors.
- Maintain daily production, quality, and service levels.
- Vary work priorities and activities to accommodate business needs.
- Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
- Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs when possible.
- Verify prescription information entered by data entry or order entry.
- Back up other pharmacists as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
- Train less experienced pharmacists.
Requirements:
- Candidate must reside and be licensed in AZ, FL, IN, OH, or TN.
- Bachelor's in Pharmacy required.
- PharmD preferred.
- Current resident pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Specialty or Oncology experience preferred.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
- Strong focus on customer service, quality, and accuracy.
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times.
- During the 8-week training period, availability Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm EST.
- After training, availability Monday through Friday for four days, 8:30 am–5 pm EST, plus Saturday 8:30 am–5 pm EST; Tuesday or Wednesday off.
- Home internet through cable broadband or fiber optic service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
