Job Description
Remote Pharmacy Technician supporting Accredo Specialty Pharmacy patients with rare and chronic disease medications. Processing prescriptions, coordinating providers and insurers, and arranging timely medication shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in receiving life sustaining medications for rare and/or chronic diseases
- Engage patients, insurance companies, and multiple departments to process prescription orders
- Ensure timely shipment of medications
- Handle inbound and outbound calls to gather patient demographics and arrange first shipments
- Create requests and make outbound calls to providers and doctors’ offices for prescription requests
- Perform data-entry-focused functions
- Accurately enter prescriptions into the system
- Investigate non-clinical issues with pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare providers
- Provide patients with guidance about medication coverage
- Juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience required; phone experience is a plus
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license in Arizona or Pennsylvania required; trainee license may be considered
- Certification preferred
- Strong computer and data-entry ability with Microsoft Office products
- High-speed internet with a wired Ethernet connection
- Private and quiet workspace
- Cable broadband or fiber-optic internet service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
