Job Description

Bilingual-preferred Patient Care Coordinator processing medical referrals for Sedgwick’s insurance and claims services. Coordinating patients, vendors, adjusters, and nurse case managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide world-class customer service and service delivery to clients and patients through processing referrals for medical goods and services
  • Reach out to patients regarding new or processing referrals, confirm demographic information, provide referral updates, and confirm delivery
  • Communicate with vendor partners, claims adjusters, and nurse case managers about referrals
  • Procure vendor partners for requested goods or services
  • Make or take calls concerning existing, new, or team members’ referrals
  • Provide quotes to clients for approval and follow up on sent quotes to obtain written approval
  • Ensure referrals are medically necessary and approved by the claim’s adjuster
  • Confirm required billing information and move referrals to billing each day
  • Process referrals according to state regulations and workers compensation guidelines
  • Perform other assigned duties
  • Support the organization’s quality programs
  • Travel as required

Requirements:

  • Spanish bilingual preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two (2) years of industry experience in healthcare network and patient care scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • Credit security clearance, confirmed via a background credit check, is required
