Job Description
Payroll Accountant supporting NinjaOne’s US accounting operations from Bandung, Indonesia. Managing payroll entries, accruals, reconciliations, close processes, and audit support remotely during US hours.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger functions with a focus on payroll-related accounting
- Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries for regular payroll, bonuses, commissions, severance, and multi-subsidiary reviews
- Perform payroll account reconciliations and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts to the GL each close cycle
- Maintain employee records and perform daily payroll-related bookkeeping
- Prepare accruals for PTO, bonuses, payroll taxes, commissions, and contractors
- Allocate accruals across multiple subsidiaries or entities
- Prepare recurring journal entries and route them through the prepare → review → post workflow
- Verify new contractors, check amounts, and reclassify accruals to the correct periods
- Review open POs, contractor bill approvals, vendor reconciliations, and expense reports
- Prepare supporting documentation, variance analyses, and transaction schedules for internal and external auditors
- Partner with the US Accounting team and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, AP, and FP&A teams
- Support US accounting operations while working US West Coast hours
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of GL accounting experience, including hands-on payroll accounting
- Experience preparing payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Working knowledge of payroll tax compliance, including federal, state, and local withholding and unemployment
- Understanding of FICA, FUTA/SUTA, and multi-state withholding rules
- Experience with benefits-related payroll accounting and benefits deduction account reconciliations
- Understanding of pre-tax versus post-tax deductions
- Experience with payroll platforms and payroll register review
- Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team across multiple time zones
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Independent problem-solving ability and ability to present solutions
- Familiarity with NetSuite preferred
- Experience with Dayforce or Numeric is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Multi-country or international payroll exposure is a plus
- CPA preferred but not required
- Must hold valid working rights in Indonesia at the time of application
