Job Description
Traveling General Superintendent leading onsite mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and piping construction projects. Managing safety, schedules, materials, subcontractors, and project closeout for Mullins Mechanical.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage onsite construction as a unified and collaborative team
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of assigned projects
- Manage field responsibilities on medium to complex projects and/or several smaller project teams simultaneously
- Collaborate with the PM to create and maintain project schedules
- Lead new-hire jobsite introductions and training and assign jobs
- Conduct direct-report employee reviews
- Provide technical guidance during project bidding when requested
- Ensure quality-control standards and submit Non-Conformance Reports for deficiencies
- Assist with purchasing take-offs and project consumables
- Review project, contract, plan, and specification documents
- Attend project hand-off and close-out meetings
- Enforce site-specific safety plans, conduct weekly toolbox talks, complete MSAs, and submit incident reports
- Prepare two-week look-ahead schedules and document and communicate delays
- Identify schedule-acceleration opportunities and obtain approval to proceed
- Manage deliveries, logistics, staging areas, materials, tools, and equipment
- Confirm proper equipment installation
- Use mobile apps, email, and current technology to track and distribute project information
- Maintain daily field logs, time sheets, receiving and manifest reports, weld reports, inspection reports, test reports, and as-built drawings
- Assist the PM with job-cost updates and monthly billing
- Lead weekly meetings with foremen and subcontractors and track their production and performance
- Ensure jobsites remain clean and orderly
Requirements:
- Previous experience and proven track record as a construction Senior Superintendent for a trade Mullins self-performs, or in a similar role
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to communicate professionally
- Ability to lead and inspire
- OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience managing multiple Superintendents required
