Job Description
Principal Architect leading Humana's healthcare digital platforms, cloud architecture, and AI transformation. Guiding architects and securing personalized web and mobile experiences for millions of members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead teams of System and Solution Architects
- Manage the operation of Digital platforms and services supporting digital experiences and technology platform development
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps solutions teams
- Lead Solutions and Systems architecture across digital marketing, sales, websites, mobile apps, and omnichannel communications
- Translate business needs into technical systems solutions
- Integrate hardware, software, and network interfaces into complete systems
- Develop and drive segment- or enterprise-wide functional strategies with senior executives
- Lead development of a scalable, portable, and resilient cloud platform ecosystem for Humana's digital transformation
- Establish automation, self-service, and consistent cloud adoption and implementation strategies
- Create reusable design patterns and solutions supporting privacy, security, and compliance governance
- Establish unified technology intake and onboarding processes
- Lead architecture and adoption of AI, ML, and Gen AI technologies for personalized digital experiences
- Lead architecture center-of-practice activities across Sales, Marketing, and Digital
- Coordinate with IT partners on delivery, quality, scalable approaches, and front-end technology implementation
- Architect digital experiences using MACH principles and technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Vue.js, Angular, React.js, Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, and varied relational, document, vector, and graph databases
- Act as a subject matter expert on usability and interface design
- Design, develop, and maintain Humana's network and integrated application systems
- Build secure web and mobile experiences for enterprise portals
- Design and architect enterprise website search using AI and ML techniques
- Ensure third-party library integrations meet Humana standards for security, privacy, performance, accessibility, Section 508, and ADA compliance
- Build a dependency management program for web development libraries
- Ensure architecture decisions align with strategy and standards, and identify and communicate deviations
- Set technology strategy to deliver corporate objectives
- Lead architects designing and configuring technical systems and application architecture across the Healthcare Ecosystem
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and other segments on enterprise IT standards and frameworks
- Make technical approach decisions independently and influence enterprise strategy
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps with business leaders
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and curious team culture
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 10+ years management in related IT field
- 10 or more years of progressive information technology experience directly related to architecture/engineering, information security, or another specialized technology field
- 5+ years of project/people leadership
- 3–5 years of experience with Cloud Computing and certifications in Cloud Technologies
- 5+ years of experience with platform implementation and transformation
- Broad technology experience across cloud architecture, digital marketing, NoSQL/SQL databases, event streaming, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevSecOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, and digital transformation
- Experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions, including scalable cloud-based solutions
- Experience with large enterprise-level systems and managing data at scale
- Experience with multiple public cloud providers
- Experience architecting cloud-native solutions or migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud
- Willingness to switch between different Digital Channels areas as assignments require
- Prior technical leadership experience with Lead and Senior Architects
- Understanding of common architectural patterns and design principles
- Strong technical foundation in architectural patterns involving Digital Experience Strategy
- Experience leading organizational change
- Experience developing large-scale systems for enterprise strategic initiatives
- Strong communication skills for presentations to senior executives, architects, developers, and other stakeholders
- Passion for continuously improving consumer experiences
- Prior experience developing software for enterprise applications and digital websites
- Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Preferred: Cloud Solutions Architect certification(s) with major CSPs, Azure preferred
- Preferred: Experience with Adobe and Akamai web content and publishing services
- Preferred: Experience with agile development and work practices
- Preferred: Experience creating personalized experiences with modular and flexible web and mobile architectures
