Job Description
Systems Architect modernizing a critical legacy application for GDIT, a technology and professional services company serving U.S. government, defense, and intelligence missions. Leading architecture, cloud/Agile implementation, stakeholder solutioning, and enterprise technical documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate solutioning discussions with customers and vendors
- Identify system interface requirements and develop solutions, including technical architecture diagrams
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
- Understand long-term system vision and create scalable technical implementation strategies
- Clarify requirements and propose solutions aligned with business milestones
- Engage current customers to understand needs, vet solutions, and advise on strategies
- Select technical solutions and approaches for anticipated or actual requirements
- Lead solution design and development of architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, and related artifacts
- Diagnose larger system issues and work with project managers to complete projects on time
- Determine high-level and detailed estimates
- Create technical workflows and supporting documentation for enterprise systems projects
- Help implement best practices for technical development and deployment
- Modernize a critical legacy application using Agile and Cloud development practices
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in computer science, systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software, or related field
- 15+ years of technical leadership experience
- Track record leading and managing successful application modernization implementations, particularly mainframe-to-web/mobile environments
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Deep experience developing and managing workflows, user interfaces, decision rules, and data models
- Thorough understanding of and experience with the software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology
- Experience and/or certification in Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience with UI/UX and mobile development
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process, including detailed forms and fingerprinting
- U.S. residency for the required security-clearance process
- No U.S. citizenship required
