Job Description
Yelp product leader driving search relevance algorithms and personalized business recommendations. Leading roadmap, machine-learning optimization, and cross-functional teams connecting consumers with local businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a product roadmap for Search aligned with Yelp’s overall business objectives
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape and identify opportunities for innovation
- Understand consumer needs and pain points and translate them into product requirements with UXR and Data Science
- Identify, define, and prioritize algorithm development initiatives
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Use data-driven insights to inform product decisions and optimize algorithm performance
- Lead Search product development from conception to launch
- Foster a data-driven culture to measure and optimize product performance
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science to deliver exceptional products
- Lead and mentor data scientists, engineers, and analysts
- Drive innovation on search algorithms
- Drive consumer engagement and retention through innovative product solutions
Requirements:
- Proven track record and extensive experience leading technical product development in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, preferably in Search
- Strong understanding of machine learning
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong collaboration across different teams, functions, and timezones
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, and experience solving large computational problems
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
