Job Description

Process engineering support for Georgia-Pacific, a manufacturer of paper, packaging, cellulose, and building products. Supporting capital projects, asset performance, process safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Engineering, Small Project Teams, mill site engineering, and Manufacturing Technical Center discipline teams on capital projects and project resource loading
  • Ensure GP discipline engineering quality standards and deliverables are defined and fulfilled throughout capital project execution
  • Confirm the integrity of engineering project process scope definition and execution to meet business goals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers, designers, and suppliers to develop transformative projects
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and Collaboration and Support Center teams to develop business cases supporting investment strategies
  • Build relationships with Operations, Engineering, and Business stakeholders
  • Develop supplier relationships supporting technology applications
  • Support development and implementation of Design, Operate, and Maintain standards for systems and assets
  • Prioritize high-risk or high-profile site support opportunities based on SME capabilities
  • Identify capital improvement opportunities and partner with site and external engineering teams on development, execution, and commissioning
  • Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements with the objective of achieving zero significant incidents

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in pulp & paper industry operations and engineering, preferably at integrated kraft mill(s)
  • Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of relevant assets
  • Eligible to work full-time on or by Summer 2027
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or visa sponsorship
  • This role is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship
  • May be required to successfully pass a drug test
  • Must satisfy applicable E-Verify requirements
