Job Description

Nila Cares, building software for domiciliary care providers, seeks a CQC Registered Manager as a remote product advisor. Advising on workflows, compliance, commissioning, and care operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review product plans, designs, and early builds in regular video sessions
  • Advise the product team based on real-world domiciliary care operations
  • Identify issues with workflows such as rotas, care plans, medication records, and audit trails
  • Explain day-to-day practices including rostering, ECM/call monitoring, care planning, reviews, CQC evidence and notifications, safeguarding, commissioning, and reporting
  • Sanity-check product priorities and identify features that would genuinely save managers time
  • Answer occasional ad hoc questions via email or WhatsApp

Requirements:

  • Current or recent CQC Registered Manager experience in domiciliary/home care in England, held currently or within roughly the last 6 months
  • Managed a service through at least one CQC inspection, ideally rated Good or Outstanding under the candidate’s management
  • Hands-on experience with local authority and/or ICB-commissioned care, including frameworks, spot and block contracts, and ECM/call monitoring
  • Experience using Care Management Software such as Birdie, CarePlanner, or OneTouch
  • Opinionated, direct, and comfortable challenging a product team
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent (nice to have)
  • Experience growing a service, mobilising new contracts, or working across multiple locations (nice to have)
  • Experience choosing or implementing care management software as a buyer/user (nice to have)
  • Involvement in a Skills for Care registered manager network or local care association (nice to have)
  • Commitment of 2–4 hours per week initially, with flexible scheduling
  • Self-employed consultancy agreement; candidate invoices the company
  • NDA required
  • Must confirm no conflict of interest before starting
