Job Description

Lead architect designing hyperscale cloud and colocation data centers for AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm. Guiding integrated design, construction administration, compliance, and client delivery across complex mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data center and colocation projects from early concept through construction administration and closeout
  • Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, construction teams, and external stakeholders to develop coordinated and integrated design solutions
  • Develop and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for code, standards, and client-guideline compliance
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to support project delivery and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients
  • Ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and designers
  • Maintain and apply data center industry best practices and design trends
  • Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new pursuits
  • Work with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects
  • Participate in occasional client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other business-critical activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Demonstrated experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects
  • Knowledge of building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements
  • Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and related design tools
  • 5+ years of experience with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models preferred
  • Active U.S. Architectural license preferred
  • LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credentials preferred
  • Experience in fast-paced, global project environments preferred
  • Extensive experience working with permitting authorities and AHJs preferred
  • Leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
