Job Description
Senior Design Manager leading multidisciplinary data-center design projects for Iron Mountain’s sustainable information infrastructure services. Driving execution from concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Responsibilities:
- Define the design delivery strategy and lead major facility, campus phase, or complex regional programs from concept development through construction, commissioning, and handover
- Coordinate external consultants, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and internal stakeholders across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and security systems
- Oversee design reporting, risk management, and value engineering
- Lead resolution of technical, commercial, and program risks
- Serve as the principal design partner across Construction, Operations, Security, and Sustainability
- Mentor Design Managers to elevate regional practices
- Ensure technical decisions align with safety, customer, commercial, program, resilience, and sustainability goals
Requirements:
- Typically 10+ years of experience with substantial accountability for complex data center or mission-critical capital projects
- Deep multidisciplinary understanding of critical-facility systems, consultant governance, codes/standards, permitting, and global vs. local compliance
- Strong commercial awareness to balance technical trade-offs against costs
- Proven capability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams through influence
- A four-year college degree in Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to travel up to 25%
