Job Description
Senior UX/UI Designer leading AI-powered creation features for Mixbook’s photo-book design platform. Researching, prototyping, and designing responsible generative experiences across web and iOS.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end design of AI-powered creation features from discovery and UX strategy through polished, developer-ready UI
- Plan and run user research and turn insights into recommendations using AI tools for rapid synthesis
- Check research findings against source data
- Design for unpredictable AI output, including generation states, multiple results, regeneration, partial success, and graceful failure
- Create controls that keep users in charge
- Build trust through transparency and responsible AI practices
- Address privacy of personal photos and fair representation in generated content
- Deliver responsive UI and code-based prototypes across web and iOS
- Contribute reusable AI interaction patterns to the design system
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and designers
- Document decisions so the team can continue the work after the engagement
Requirements:
- 8–10 years in UX/UI or product design
- Portfolio showing end-to-end work and shipped AI-powered features, including process, trade-offs, and outcomes
- Fluency with AI design tools such as Figma Make, Claude, and Cursor
- Ability to prototype with real model output
- Experience designing generative or AI-assisted creative tools
- Strong understanding of LLM-based systems, including non-deterministic output, latency, and error modes
- Strong interaction and visual design craft
- Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and native iOS conventions
- Clear async writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and drive decisions with cross-functional partners
- Degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or equivalent practical experience
