Job Description
Senior Developer migrating Sitecore platforms to Contentful for Valtech, an experience innovation company. Building React/TypeScript applications, APIs, migration tooling and AI-assisted solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the migration of an enterprise digital platform from Sitecore to Contentful.
- Migrate and modernise existing Sitecore-backed applications to work with Contentful.
- Develop, refactor and enhance frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
- Replace Sitecore-specific dependencies, components and integrations with Contentful-compatible solutions.
- Develop content migration tooling, scripts and automated transformation processes.
- Implement Contentful content models, API integrations and content delivery patterns.
- Ensure migrated applications maintain functionality, performance, accessibility and quality.
- Adopt an AI-first mindset to accelerate development, migration and problem-solving.
- Apply spec-driven development with technical specifications, acceptance criteria and tests.
- Use AI for Sitecore analysis, schema mapping, migration script generation, application refactoring and validation.
- Review, test and take accountability for AI-generated outputs.
- Share AI-enabled development practices and improve team productivity.
- Own complex development tasks and significant migration components.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Lead Developers, architects, QA and content teams.
- Mentor less experienced developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Strong commercial software engineering experience, particularly with React and TypeScript.
- Experience migrating, modernising or refactoring existing frontend applications.
- Practical experience with headless CMS platforms, preferably Contentful, and an understanding of Sitecore.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns and content modelling.
- Experience with backend development, migration scripting or data transformation.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of spec-driven development approaches.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to work independently, solve complex problems and influence technical implementation decisions.
- Direct experience migrating Sitecore applications and content to Contentful is desirable.
- Experience with Next.js, Sitecore JSS or CMS/DXP replatforming is desirable.
- Experience applying AI to content analysis, migration automation, code transformation or test generation is desirable.
- Experience with multilingual, multisite or composable digital platforms is desirable.
