Job Description

Lead DevOps Engineer managing cloud-native infrastructure, specializing in Kubernetes and AWS EKS. Collaborate with teams to enhance platform reliability and automation in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, manage, support and operation of cloud-native infrastructure and container orchestration platforms
  • Drive platform reliability, scalability, automation, and operational excellence across critical SaaS and cloud-based workloads
  • Work closely with Cloud Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams to modernize infrastructure
  • Implement best practices, enable application teams through self-service and platform capabilities
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with security, compliance, and operational standards
  • Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters
  • Build and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes best practices
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Develop reusable modules and automation frameworks to enable self-service infrastructure
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support containerized application delivery
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement efforts
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes including production cluster operations
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker
  • Deep experience with AWS, including Amazon EKS
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation)
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or similar)
  • Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis experience
  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Kubernetes-specific certifications such as CKA/CKAD) preferred
  • Experience implementing security best practices for Kubernetes (RBAC, network policies, secrets management) preferred
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) preferred
  • Experience with multi-cluster or hybrid Kubernetes environments preferred
