Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer operating AWS, Kubernetes, and blockchain infrastructure for Startale’s onchain finance products. Owning reliability, security, deployment, and production operations for StartaleApp and Strium.
Responsibilities:
- Own infrastructure architecture and operations for StartaleApp, Strium, and other production systems
- Design, build, and operate highly available AWS cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, scaling, and upgrades
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines with safe rollouts and rollback
- Operate PostgreSQL in production, including availability, replication, backups, performance, and recovery
- Build observability across infrastructure, applications, databases, and blockchain nodes, with early incident alerting
- Run blockchain infrastructure including nodes, RPC services, and indexers; monitor sync, connectivity, and transaction processing at protocol level
- Design disaster recovery and failover for critical systems
- Harden security through access control, secrets management, vulnerability management, and monitoring
- Diagnose full-stack production incidents and remove operational bottlenecks through automation
Requirements:
- Must be physically based in a US time zone (UTC-8 to UTC-5), whether in the US, Canada, or Latin America; working US hours from another region does not qualify
- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Track record of building and operating production infrastructure for highly available systems
- Deep hands-on Kubernetes, AWS, and Linux experience
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform, GitOps practices, and CI/CD pipeline design
- Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, TLS, service discovery
- PostgreSQL in production: replication, backups, recovery, performance
- High-availability design, incident response, root-cause analysis, and capacity planning
- Hands-on experience operating blockchain infrastructure (nodes, RPC, indexers, validators, or data pipelines)
- Understanding of how distributed blockchain networks fail
- English is the working language of engineering
- SecOps or cloud security experience, production hardening, AWS security services, and IAM design are strong pluses
- Bare-metal operations, Helm or ArgoCD, Kafka or NATS, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Ethereum, Polkadot, L2 ecosystems, financial/trading systems, AI infrastructure workflows, Go, Rust, or TypeScript are strong pluses
