Job Description
(Senior) Engineer developing models of electrical characteristics in the wind power sector. Contributing to the certification processes and supporting simulation models for stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Developing models of the electrical characteristics of generation units to ensure compliance with national and international grid codes and guidelines
- Validating and evaluating wind turbine simulation models
- Preparing external model validation as part of the certification process for electrical characteristics
- Providing support for simulation models to internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation
- Automating validation and verification tasks
- Participating in or supporting national and international committees on modeling and validation procedures
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or Diplom‑Ingenieur (equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in power systems, control, or automation engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in the grid integration of generation plants
- Strong knowledge of power systems, control engineering, and/or power electronics
- Experience with RMS or EMT modeling in at least one simulation platform such as PSCAD or DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- Familiarity with MATLAB and Python; knowledge of other simulation tools such as PSS/E, EMTP‑RV, and EMTP‑ATP is a plus
- Experience developing frequency‑domain (harmonic) simulation models is an advantage
- Good written and spoken German and English
