Job Description
Senior Financial Analyst joining New Relic's Go To Market FP&A team to manage budgets and improve forecasting accuracy. Utilize analytical skills to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly and monthly forecasts for the global Go to Market organization.
- Track and manage operating expenses (Headcount, Personnel costs,T&E, Marketing program and software expense) to ensure alignment with budget and headcount plans.
- Partner with the FP&A Manager in reviewing and explaining monthly spend trends and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
- Ensure proper accruals and expense classifications in coordination with Accounting and Procurement.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and variance analysis between budget and forecast with clear explanations of all variances.
- Develop and distribute recurring financial reports to Marketing and Finance leadership.
- Provide commentary on financial results and support ad-hoc reporting and deep-dive analysis as needed.
- Support quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with financial exhibits, commentary, and insights.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Marketing leaders, providing financial guidance on spend management, investment prioritization, and budget optimization.
- Develop financial models and analytical frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness and Return on Investment (ROI) of marketing investments across key channels (e.g., demand generation, events)
- Deliver insights that help leadership make data-driven decisions on resourcing and expense management.
- Translate financial data into business terms for non-finance stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial reporting tools, templates, and processes.
- Help improve data integrity, forecast accuracy, and financial visibility across GTM teams.
- Leverage Adaptive Insights for planning and reporting accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, business finance, or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and Excel/modeling skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams
