  • Build and maintain the PHP/Symfony backend, REST APIs, and integrations.
  • Establish development standards, automated testing practices, and architectural patterns.
  • Design and maintain large-scale manufacturer product-information ingestion pipelines.
  • Build web crawling and scraping systems for product specifications, descriptions, images, and other data.
  • Develop data normalization, validation, deduplication, enrichment, review, and correction processes.
  • Build scalable processes for initial imports, incremental updates, and ongoing product-data maintenance.
  • Implement asynchronous processing and background jobs using Symfony Messenger and message queues.
  • Develop Redis or similar caching strategies while maintaining data consistency.
  • Design failure handling, retries, and recovery processes for ingestion pipelines and background workers.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, metrics, error tracking, and alerting.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and improve application performance and resource utilization.
  • Build quoting functionality supporting projects, line items, pricing, markup, and customer-ready quotes.
  • Build customer-facing and internal interfaces using modern JavaScript, with React preferred.
  • Collaborate with developers, product-data reviewers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Own technical challenges from design through implementation, deployment, and optimization.
  • Evaluate AI coding tools and other technologies to improve development efficiency and product quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong data modeling skills and deep experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as Doctrine.
  • Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing, message queues, and background jobs.
  • Strong knowledge of caching systems such as Redis.
  • Experience building reliable web crawling and scraping systems.
  • Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Practical experience with production monitoring, logging, error tracking, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
  • Experience building quoting, CPQ, or product configuration software is nice to have.
  • Experience with complex ecommerce product catalogues, manufacturer data, or product feeds is nice to have.
  • Experience with React and modern JavaScript development is nice to have.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines is nice to have.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted product data enrichment or classification is nice to have.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, foodservice supplies, or the broader equipment distribution industry is nice to have.
  • Comfortable using AI coding tools to improve development productivity is nice to have.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with complex product data.
  • Analytical and systems-oriented thinking.
  • Creative problem-solving and a willingness to challenge inefficient approaches.
