Job Description
Senior Lecturer teaching interdisciplinary Gender Studies across Bachelor’s and Master’s curricula at the University of Vienna. Supervising theses and developing teaching and assessment formats.
Responsibilities:
- Independently teach courses at Bachelor’s and Master’s level
- Support the preparation and supervision of Master’s theses
- Contribute to the development and further development of course and assessment formats
- Keep up to date with current research and scholarship
- Undertake continuing professional development in teaching and learning
- Take on research assignments during lecture-free periods
- Perform administrative duties, particularly in the administration of teaching
- Contribute to teaching on the interdisciplinary Master’s programme in Gender Studies
- Offer courses spanning the thematic, methodological, and practical breadth of the curriculum, with a subject-matter focus on the social sciences
Requirements:
- Completed doctorate in Gender Studies or in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary gender research within another discipline
- Knowledge of current epistemological and methodological approaches in gender theory is preferred
- Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
- Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and for university teaching
- Ability to work collaboratively and willingness to coordinate course content with colleagues in line with the requirements of the degree programme
- Excellent spoken and written German and English
