Job Description

Senior Magento Developer at bringIT, leading backend architecture and driving strategic migration to Magento Community. Collaborate with teams for high-performance e-commerce solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the backend architecture of the Magento platform, ensuring scalability and performance
  • Provide technical leadership to the backend development team, establishing coding standards, performing code reviews and mentoring the team
  • Design and review critical integrations with external systems (ERP, payment gateways, fraud prevention, OMS and PIM)
  • Technically manage the migration from Adobe Commerce to Magento Community, ensuring module compatibility and a zero-downtime strategy
  • Diagnose and resolve high-complexity critical incidents related to infrastructure, performance and security (PHP-FPM, Nginx, OpenSearch)
  • Monitor and optimize the platform using Grafana and Tempo, acting proactively on observability metrics
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner on technical refinement, effort estimates and product roadmap feasibility

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (Systems Analysis and Development, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems), IT Management or related areas
  • Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience
  • Strong experience with Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce / Community) and PHP 8.x (applying SOLID principles and design patterns)
  • Advanced knowledge of API architecture (REST and GraphQL) in the context of Magento e-commerce
  • Proficiency with infrastructure and performance technologies: MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ
  • Hands-on experience with observability and troubleshooting using Grafana, Tempo and structured log analysis
  • Familiarity with infrastructure environments (Docker, Nginx, PHP-FPM) and basic knowledge of headless architectures (Vue.js)
  • Prior experience with strategic migration from Adobe Commerce to Magento Community (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with Vue.js/Nuxt frontends for API architecture decision-making (Headless Commerce) (Preferred)
  • Experience in high-volume transactional e-commerce and critical flows (PIX, fraud prevention) (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of e-commerce security (OWASP Top 10 practices, hardening and suspicious traffic analysis) (Preferred)
  • Experience with automation and integration tools (n8n, Zapier or similar) (Preferred)
  • Adobe Commerce certifications (Developer or Architect) (Preferred)
