Job Description
Senior Consultant designing and building software using Node.js and MERN stack at Expleo. Collaborating with enterprise stakeholders and utilizing GenAI tools for efficient delivery.
Responsibilities:
- We’re looking for a Senior Consultant who can take ambiguous business problems and turn them into working software.
- You’ll design and build modern services and applications using Node.js, Python and the MERN stack (React, Express, MongoDB), working directly with enterprise stakeholders.
- You’ll use GenAI coding assistants (Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate delivery — while keeping code production-ready, secure and maintainable.
- Turn vague business needs into clear technical solutions through spikes, prototypes and fast iteration.
- Build backend services (Node.js, Python, REST/GraphQL, event-driven components).
- Build modern React front ends using hooks and component libraries.
- Design and integrate MongoDB and relational databases.
- Ensure quality, security and reliability (tests, observability, performance, secure coding).
- Use GenAI tools for scaffolding, refactoring, tests and documentation — with review and governance.
- Define service architecture, APIs and integration patterns.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to validate value and manage trade-offs.
- Contribute to Lean/Agile delivery (backlog shaping, incremental delivery, continuous improvement).
- Review code, mentor others, and help raise the engineering bar.
- Own what you build, from deployment to production support.
- Deliver multiple production releases that improve a real business KPI.
- Create reusable templates for MERN and Python services (testing, security, observability built-in).
Requirements:
- 8+ years building production software with Node.js and Python
- Strong MERN stack experience (React, Express, MongoDB)
- Experience using GenAI tools (Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) in real production work
- Ability to work in uncertain, fast-moving environments
- Solid API design, data modelling, performance and security knowledge
- Strong testing, CI/CD and DevOps practices (Docker, pipelines, IaC)
- Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders
- Clear communication and technical leadership
- Nice to have: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Data or ML pipelines in Python
- Security, compliance or regulated-industry experience
