Job Description
Mobile Engineer Lead managing BeatStars’ mobile strategy while defining architecture and standards for the mobile practice. Writing production code and mentoring the mobile engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the complete technical owner for the BeatStars Mobile practice.
- Actively design, write, review, and ship production mobile code — this is a hands-on leadership role.
- Define and document mobile engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability across our mobile applications.
- Partner closely with Product and Design to translate PRDs into clear mobile execution plans.
- Help architect scalable mobile systems that support BeatStars’ global creator marketplace and fan ecosystem.
- Audit existing mobile systems and proactively identify opportunities to reduce tech debt and improve performance.
- Write production-ready mobile code regularly — this is a hands-on leadership role.
- Establish processes for enforcing standards through code reviews, CI/CD, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ship mobile features predictably and reliably.
- Serve as a technical mentor to the mobile engineering team.
Requirements:
- 10+ years at a company where you’ve shipped and supported production mobile applications used by tens of thousands of users or more.
- Strong experience building consumer-facing mobile apps for production environments.
- Deep experience with React Native and/or native mobile development (iOS / Android).
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and platform best practices.
- Experience working on scalable, production-grade applications.
- Strong architectural instincts and understanding of mobile system design.
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, high-quality mobile code.
- Experience integrating with backend APIs and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain technical decisions to engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Experience collaborating closely with Product teams on feature delivery.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred (Master’s or higher is a plus).
