Job Description

Senior H&S Technician leading Spain occupational-risk compliance for Oyster’s global employment platform. Managing prevention services, vendors, audits, and remote-work safety worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation, ongoing design, implementation, and management of Oyster’s Internal Prevention Service in Spain
  • Perform workplace and occupational risk assessments
  • Investigate work-related accidents and occupational illnesses
  • Resolve complex Spain-specific Health & Safety questions, tickets, and escalations
  • Conduct health and safety reports and safety measurements
  • Advise the business on protective measures
  • Provide counsel and representation during Labor Inspection visits
  • Manage Spain HSE vendor relationships
  • Collaborate on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices for a remote work environment
  • Lead global H&S audits and inspections
  • Support H&S committees worldwide
  • Conduct remote global risk assessments and implement mitigating measures
  • Investigate and document global incidents and accidents
  • Monitor global regulations and integrate safety considerations into remote work processes
  • Manage global HSE vendor relationships, lifecycle, performance, KPIs/SLAs, governance, reviews, documentation, and offboarding
  • Resolve vendor-related escalations and coordinate root-cause investigations
  • Analyze vendor performance, feedback, and trends, leveraging AI and automation where appropriate
  • Build H&S content, documentation, and knowledge resources
  • Provide training and support internal stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional H&S projects with the Director of People Services and other teams
  • Audit and refine workflows to reduce response times and improve service quality
  • Analyze recurring ticket trends and build preventative resources

Requirements:

  • Significant, deep technical knowledge of Spain’s occupational risk prevention regulations
  • Proven experience setting up or managing an Internal Prevention Service (Servicio de Prevención Propio)
  • Experience or strong comfort supporting health and safety frameworks across multiple countries or regions, including EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and AMER
  • Pragmatic, commercially minded approach to compliance
  • Strong communication skills, including handling escalations, advising senior leadership, and training internal teams
  • Proven track record independently driving cross-functional H&S initiatives from conception to execution
  • Deep experience sourcing and implementing HSE and Compliance vendors
  • A bachelor's or university degree in environmental health, safety, engineering, or a similar field
  • A Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Profesionales) with the three specializations
  • Full English proficiency (C1 level or above)
  • Reliable home internet connection or ability to obtain one
  • Must be based within Spain
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of residence
  • Official accreditation as a Senior Health & Safety Technician is asked in the application
  • Experience with Ergonomics & Applied Psychosociology together with Safety at Work
  • Experience managing Health & Safety programs and vendors outside Spain
