Job Description
Senior Python Developer building private cloud infrastructure for government institutions. Developing backend applications, migrating workloads, and supporting long-term production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Build a private cloud solution for a government institution in a Western European country
- Migrate workloads into the new environment
- Provide long-term maintenance and production support for the platform
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new backend applications
- Test and improve existing backend infrastructure applications
- Meet with architects, functional designers, and other specialists on system and application design
- Contribute to scope estimation, technical input into pre-sales documents, and improvement proposals for the client
- Progress toward owning technical decisions, setting solution direction, mentoring engineers, and participating in future planning
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with Python
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and the software delivery lifecycle (GitLab)
- Experience with testing frameworks (Robot Framework, Pytest)
- Experience with containers
- Experience with Linux system administration
- Infrastructure knowledge: firewalls, reverse proxies, forward proxies, and networking (IPv4, IPv6)
- Consulting mindset: ability to identify business goals before choosing solutions, challenge clients with well-supported arguments, and work with underdefined scope
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Experience with Kubernetes (Helm, Kustomize, GitOps) is an additional skill
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault and Terraform is an additional skill
- Experience with OpenStack is an additional skill
- Experience building highly automated public cloud solutions is an additional skill
- Experience working in a dedicated team or T&M model with a foreign client is an additional skill
- Experience in managerial roles such as Tech Leader, Team Leader, or Coordinator is an additional skill
- Experience as a Pre-sales Engineer or in a role with pre-sales exposure is an additional skill
