Job Description
Senior Quality Analyst responsible for end-to-end software application testing and mentoring junior team members in an Agile environment. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and utilizes SQL for testing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end testing of software applications to ensure functionality, usability, and compatibility across multiple platforms.
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and plans based on project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct thorough regression testing to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Utilize SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform database testing as needed.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings to provide testing updates and feedback within an agile scrum framework.
- Document and report issues, bugs, and test results accurately using designated tracking tools.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on testing best practices and methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software testing techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, processes, and best practices in an Agile environment.
- 4-8 plus years of experience in software testing, with a focus on web application testing.
- Strong understanding of web application testing principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and database testing.
- Experience working in an agile scrum environment and familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with API testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Postman, SOAPUI) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with defect tracking systems, test management tools, and Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- ISTQB or similar certification in software testing is desirable but not required.
