Job Description
Senior Software Engineer improving Worth AI’s platform, developer tooling, and engineering productivity. Scaling Node.js services, Kubernetes deployments, and shared engineering architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular interviews with engineering teams to identify workflow pain points and prioritize tools or architectural changes.
- Design and implement reusable patterns using Nest.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and refine Kafka producer/consumer patterns for reliable message delivery.
- Own and evolve Kubernetes and ArgoCD configurations for automated, safe deployments.
- Lead cross-team technical challenges, including shared-library re-architecture and service-to-service communication improvements.
- Refactor complex codebases into maintainable, testable, modern modules.
- Mentor and coach engineers across the organization.
- Research, prototype, and roll out internal tools, libraries, and frameworks improving CI/CD, local development, and observability.
- Introduce frameworks or architectural changes with documentation, workshops, and one-to-one support.
- Lead by example in code reviews and coach on maintainable design, testing, and system-level risk mitigation.
- Communicate technical trade-offs across functions and align differing perspectives.
- Drive improvements in DORA metrics, system latency, developer velocity, and knowledge distribution.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of leading teams and providing technical direction.
- Deep passion for mentorship with a history of developing the technical careers of associate and intermediate engineers.
- Prior experience specifically within Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Experience (DevEx) teams.
- Deep professional expertise in the Node.js/TypeScript ecosystem, including experience scaling Nest.js backends and React.js frontends.
- Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL (query optimization and schema design) and Kafka (event-driven architecture).
- Proven ability to "unroll" complex legacy code and replace it with scalable, maintainable architecture.
- Experience navigating high-ambiguity environments and translating vague technical frustrations into prioritized roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to build psychological safety and trust within a team while raising the engineering quality bar.
