Job Description
Software Engineer improving CI/CD infrastructure and developer productivity for Dremio’s unified lakehouse platform. Automating cloud infrastructure, development workflows, and software releases.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions
- Support regularly scheduled and on-demand break-fix work for Dremio’s CI/CD system
- Identify improvements and implement changes to increase system efficiency and effectiveness
- Solve problems for Dremio engineers using playbooks, short-term workarounds, documentation, and automation
- Work on infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Manage access to key infrastructure
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and associated systems
- Automate local development workflows
- Analyze performance bottlenecks, determine root causes, file defects, follow up with developers, and document resolutions
- Keep development branches green
- Automate software release processes to delivery endpoints
- Report on the status, reliability, and robustness of CI/CD systems
- Participate in code reviews
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 1+ years of experience on large-scale distributed systems
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Basic understanding of cloud networking and cloud architecture
- Proficiency in any of Java, C++, Python, or Go
- Knowledge of Maven or similar build environments
- Hands-on experience in pipeline automation using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Terraform, BASH, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes
- Ability to write technical reports effectively summarizing key data
- Working knowledge in data lakes and data warehousing (bonus)
- Proficiency with SQL (bonus)
