Job Description

Software Engineer improving CI/CD infrastructure and developer productivity for Dremio’s unified lakehouse platform. Automating cloud infrastructure, development workflows, and software releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions
  • Support regularly scheduled and on-demand break-fix work for Dremio’s CI/CD system
  • Identify improvements and implement changes to increase system efficiency and effectiveness
  • Solve problems for Dremio engineers using playbooks, short-term workarounds, documentation, and automation
  • Work on infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Manage access to key infrastructure
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and associated systems
  • Automate local development workflows
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks, determine root causes, file defects, follow up with developers, and document resolutions
  • Keep development branches green
  • Automate software release processes to delivery endpoints
  • Report on the status, reliability, and robustness of CI/CD systems
  • Participate in code reviews

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 1+ years of experience on large-scale distributed systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Basic understanding of cloud networking and cloud architecture
  • Proficiency in any of Java, C++, Python, or Go
  • Knowledge of Maven or similar build environments
  • Hands-on experience in pipeline automation using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with Terraform, BASH, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes
  • Ability to write technical reports effectively summarizing key data
  • Working knowledge in data lakes and data warehousing (bonus)
  • Proficiency with SQL (bonus)
