Job Description
Senior systems engineer managing TP’s enterprise IT infrastructure, servers, virtualization, backups, and security. Supporting globally distributed teams from Croatia in a fully remote role.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, install, operate, update, and troubleshoot specialized IT infrastructure components
- Manage terminal server environments, virtual server infrastructures, backup and recovery systems, Linux and Windows server environments, patch and lifecycle management, database systems, secure file transfer environments, monitoring solutions, and standardized platforms and applications
- Independently manage incidents, problems, and escalations through last-level support
- Support consultation, planning, and technical design of IT projects
- Coordinate tasks, timelines, and deliverables assigned to external service providers, IT specialist groups, and operational business units
- Coordinate with external service providers and internal IT specialist teams
- Act as primary contact for last-level and highly complex technical issues
- Design and implement automation solutions, including scripting where required
- Conceptualize tasks suitable for routine and operational activities
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation
- Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled work outside standard business hours for maintenance and technical changes
- Take on ITSM roles such as Incident Manager, Problem Manager, Change Manager, and System Coordinator
- Ensure compliance with information security requirements and careful handling of privileged access rights
- Adhere to confidentiality obligations, contractual and legal regulations, and ISMS policies
- Immediately report and actively support resolution of security incidents
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in systems engineering and server-/system administration within complex, enterprise IT environments
- ITILv4 Foundation certification
- Fluent German language skills (at least B2/C1 level)
- Fluent English language skills (at least B2/C1 level)
- In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially Proxmox
- In-depth knowledge of backup/restore products, such as Veeam
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification preferred, but not mandatory
- Very high willingness to learn, strong resilience, and flexibility in a dynamic IT environment
- Structured, goal-oriented, and analytical working style with a strong sense of ownership
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team-oriented mindset in an international environment
- Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly
- High level of commitment, reliability, and hands-on mentality
